‘The Eleventh Step’ to compete at Annecy Int’l Film Festival

Kid’s short flick ‘The Eleventh Step’ is to vie at Annecy Int’l Animated Film Festival.

Kid’s short flick ‘The Eleventh Step’ has made into the official selection of the 2020 Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France.

Directed by Maryam Kashkulinia, ‘The Eleventh Step’ will be screened in the “Young Audiences Short Films in Competition” section of the 60th edition of Annecy.

“A little lion cub, born in a zoo, lives in a cage that is only ten steps long. On the eleventh step, he bangs his head against the bars, but one day the zookeeper leaves the cage door open. However, the lion cub never dares to take one more step toward its freedom,” reads as a plot summery to the short film.

The movie has been made based on Iranian children’s author Susan Taqdis story of the same title.

The Young Audiences section of the festival will be served by a jury panel composed of Géraldine Soto, Chrystel Mussy-Masucci and Nathalie Leffray.

The Annecy International Animation Film Festival, created in 1960, is one of the four international animated film festivals sponsored by the Association Internationale du Film d'Animation (ASIFA).

The festival will be organized online in the alpine town in southeastern France on June 15-30, 2020.
